Twilight Princess Gets Dated in Korea
07-15-2009

I am not sure how many Koreans read The Hylia, but I'm sure there are some.

It seems almost impossible to believe, but the Koreans will be receiving Twilight Princes on August 27th of this year!

Don't believe me? Well, look at this:

Of course, the proper thing to do is to congratulate Korea -- it's a great game! Though I have to wonder why it has taken so long.

To be honest, I bet it's cultural. I am not Japanese, but I have always heard from people like my mother, who specialized in Japanese international affairs, that Korea and Japan are not exactly buddies, and that Koreans who are living in Japan are treated as second-class citizens. I'm not saying this is true, but I am referencing someone who ought to know.

At any rate, it's a great game, and I am sure Korea will enjoy it!

North or South?

(dumb question, I know. But the truth is NOBODY, not just Japan, hates North Korea.)

Im glad Koreas going to get TP. Everyone should be able to experience "the legend".

Also this brings up a good sologen for zelda;
"zelda, too awesome to be restricted from any country... Ever Koria!"

Well better late then never! Speaking of cultural disputes: They also say that Japanese and Chinese people aren't friends, yet from alllllll the Olympic games that have gone before Nintendo and Sega just had to pick the Chinese one to support it with a game (Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games). I always wondered why that was.

I'm korean and there's just very long history between Japan and Korea. The reason why they release the game this may be due to 'translation'. Since North American and Japanese Version were under production right from the beginning and they started Korean version later, it would have taken some time to translate all those detailed text and such. By the way, Koreans hates America (again history), because they believe that US was the reason why there's North and South right now and...accusing North 'evil', while they claim they didn't do anything to America to begin with...(they say US cares too much about everything). But that doesn't mean North has done exactly great things neither.

bleh. I'm also Korean and I can say, not all Koreans dislike Americans. Just the young ones who have constantly been spoon-fed with stereotype material from the massmedia(they always try to make US look evil for political reasons. Damn politicians :( ). People who went through the war still highly respect the US. On the other hand, the history proves that Japan and Korea can't like each other for obvious reasons and it doesn't seem to change in the near future. Just to straighten things up. :)
I was too anxious to wait for the Korean release so I bought a US console and CD which cost me almost twice the price but I can say it was definitely worth it. :)

All I have to say is that the box art for the Korean version is freakin' awesome!
